They works in a curatorial role with Hyper Cultural Passengers, Hamburg, as part of the international artist network Portjourneys. They studied with Michaela Melián and Kader Attia at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg from 2016 to 2024 and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts. Leitenmayer has been awarded several prizes, including the Willi Münzenberg Prize for the most socially relevant film and the Hamburg Young Talent Film Prize. Their work has been exhibited at Neuer Kunstverein Wien, Kunstverein Springhornhof, Yokohama Triennale, Studio Peragine, Delphi Space and ((NYT)) Kunstraum Berlin. Solo exhibitions include “Three River Pieces” at Ono Point Space Yokohama, Japan, ‘Kinderbrille’ at Galerie für Gegenwartskunst EWERK Freiburg, “Papierfischchen” at Galerie Genscher Hamburg and ‘Raummoden’ at Galerie Oelfrüh Hamburg. In 2025, she did a residency at the Andreas Züst Library in Switzerland.
