On 100 pages visual material and 72 pages text this book combines an index of finger-related notations and time-related media and collections of finger-related topics.

For this it takes the mutilated index finger as a point of reference - it’s an encyclopedia with a musical index f between the lines (e.g. f Abbreviation for forte), it’s circulating around the themes connection, synergies, voids, improvisation, noise, grief, time and space of brokenness, systems that refuse to perform, transformation of silence, wounds and physical confrontation.

“In this case of text production, it’s a handwriting along a finger memory the source of my individual and the collective body knowledge. I sort the pieces again and again, telling myself new narratives, mingled stories and giving an own symbolic order to the archive as form and medium. It feels like dream work or the uncanny unconscious process of metabolizing the world while acknowledging visible and invisible fracture points. It is playing with humorous objects of desire and imagining perceptual prostheses, slow tools for an extended body.” (p.10)
